The Maternity 9 Month Set

CATEGORY: Stuff for Mom

Product You might have that "pregnancy glow," but you see and feel that your skin is also experiencing some not-so-pretty changes. Due to ever-changing hormone levels it's not uncommon for pregnant skin to become dry, itchy, and just downright uncooperative.

What's a pregnant gal to do? Treat herself to a few products from Mustela's Maternity line, created by a French pharmaceutical company dedicated to the science of skin care for more than 50 years. The maternity line has been clinically tested by gynecologists, vein specialists, and dermatologists to insure that it's safe to use during pregnancy and while nursing.

Unique to the Mustela Maternity line is an ingredient called Elastoregulator, a derivative of Soya protein that "allows your skin to adjust to tissue distension while taking into consideration the skin's increased sensitivity."

The starter kit includes:

  • Stretch Marks Double Action: A lightly scented, sweet-smelling lotion designed to prevent and minimize new and recent stretch marks. (4.2 fl oz)
  • Instant Comfort Legs: A sampler of cooling gel cream that immediately relaxes, refreshes, hydrates, and tones the legs. (.33 fl oz)
  • Specific Bust Support: A sampler of lightly scented, alcohol-free lotion that helps prevent loss of elasticity in the breasts. (.33 fl oz)

You can also purchase their Ultimate Hydration body lotion separately. It contains wheat germ oil, beeswax, palm oil, and oat flour to help restore suppleness to dry skin. A 6.8 oz. tube is $26.

Mustela is sold in fine department and maternity stores, independent pharmacies, and from a few select Internet retailers.
